Hold-to-dictate for macOS. Tap CapsLock, speak, tap again — the transcript is in your clipboard before you've reached for it.
A pill appears under the notch with a live waveform and the recording timer.
Spiel records 16 kHz mono PCM. CapsLock no longer toggles capitals while you're talking — it's remapped via hidutil for the duration.
WhisperKit (CoreML, large-v3-turbo) transcribes locally. The result lands in your clipboard — paste anywhere.
Click the menu-bar icon to open a popover with Beautify, Summary, or Translate — runs through GPT-5-nano.
Open Settings from the menu-bar popover. Beautify and Summary system prompts are editable text fields — write them in your tone, save, done. Translate ships with 15 languages and remembers the last choice.
Spiel is ad-hoc signed (no Apple Developer ID yet), so on the first open macOS Gatekeeper will say «unidentified developer». Two ways around it:
Click OK on the warning. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom — there's an «Open Anyway» button for the blocked app. Click it. Repeat once for the .app after dragging it into Applications.
Strip the quarantine attribute the browser added:
xattr -cr ~/Downloads/Spiel.dmg
open ~/Downloads/Spiel.dmg
After dragging into Applications:
xattr -cr /Applications/Spiel.app
open /Applications/Spiel.app
Free. Ad-hoc signed (Apple Developer ID is on the roadmap — for now, right-click → Open the first time to bypass Gatekeeper).
